Air Con Serve Pty Ltd addressed the issue of humidity control and long-term energy savings with the recent air conditioning upgrade at the heritage-listed, Art Gallery of South Australia. Convincing the client to invest in an 'unproven' art gallery air conditioning process was a challenge in itself. In an entrepreneurial move, Air Con Serve installed its ground-breaking "SHAW" technology into the West Wing of the building. This new method of air conditioning employs a design based on known separate engineering principles, integrated into a single solution - thereby optimising energy and comfort performance of the entire air conditioning plant. The project difficulties were immense and the constant challenges many, including the overriding need to comply with international standards in achieving close temperature and humidity control. Overall, this is a wonderful project for South Australia , with the SHAW technology setting a new benchmark for the standard in energy efficiency.
